Who we are

NWM Europe NV is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. Our registered office is at Finlandstraat 1, 9940 Evergem, Belgium, and our company number is BE 0836.602.828.

What data we collect

We only collect the data you give us yourself. We do not buy personal data, and we do not build profiles of visitors.

• Quote requests: company name, contact name, email address, phone number, and the transport details you provide (product, UN number, volume, pickup and delivery locations, timing, notes).
• Direct contact: whatever you include when you email or call us.
• Technical data: your IP address and browser details are processed by our hosting provider in server logs, for security and to keep the site running.

Why we use it, and on what basis

• To answer your quote request and prepare an offer. Legal basis: steps taken at your request before entering into a contract (GDPR art. 6.1.b).
• To carry out and follow up a transport order once agreed. Legal basis: performance of the contract (art. 6.1.b).
• To keep our website secure and available, and to understand in aggregate which pages are used. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in a working, secure website (art. 6.1.f).
• To meet our accounting, tax and transport documentation obligations. Legal basis: legal obligation (art. 6.1.c).

We do not use your data for direct marketing unless you ask us to, and we never sell it.

Who we share it with

We share personal data only with parties that help us run our business, and only as far as they need it. Each of them acts as our processor under a data processing agreement.

• Vercel Inc., for hosting this website.
• Resend (Plus Five Five, Inc.), for delivering quote requests from the website to our inbox.
• Google Ireland Ltd., for our business email.
• Transport partners and terminals, where a leg of your shipment is carried out by a selected partner.
• Our accountant and, where legally required, public authorities.

Some of these providers are established outside the European Economic Area. Where that is the case, transfers are covered by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

Cookies

This website does not use tracking or advertising cookies, and it does not set cookies that require your consent. We use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics that count page views without identifying you and without following you across other websites.

How long we keep it

• Quote requests that do not lead to an order: up to two years, so we can pick up the conversation if you come back to us.
• Data relating to an actual transport order: ten years, in line with Belgian accounting and commercial law.
• Server logs: a short technical retention period at our hosting provider.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask us to give you a copy of your personal data, correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, or transfer it to another party. You can also object to processing we base on our legitimate interest.

Send your request to info@nwm-europe.com and we will answer within one month. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority, Drukpersstraat 35, 1000 Brussels, contact@apd-gba.be.

Security

This website is served over HTTPS and quote requests are transmitted over an encrypted connection. Access to our inbox and systems is restricted to the staff who need it. If a data breach does occur and it is likely to put your rights at risk, we will inform you and the supervisory authority as required.

When we change this policy we update the date at the top of this page. Material changes are announced on this page before they take effect.
